Hello, my name is Sara. I am the Mum of two children, Rose and Charlie. My involvement with WLDCS began 3 years ago when my son Charlie was born. Charlie is profoundly deaf and WLDCS has been a source of support for us as a family since, offering the opportunity to meet other families and children who are deaf and helping us on our journey.
I have completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Deaf Education and I work for a local council as a Teacher of the Deaf. I recently became the Vice Chair of WLDCS and I am excited to support and help drive the charity forward supporting other families, whether they are already part of the charity or those who may be new to the charity.
I believe the charity plays a vital role in supporting deaf children and their families and I am passionate about helping the charity to grow. I believe the combination of being a parent of a deaf child and also having experience of working within Deaf Education will help me within this role and I look forward to seeing what the future brings for the charity.
