My name is Rachel Hamer and I have a little boy called Max who was born profoundly deaf. He wore hearing aids from 1 month old and we went ahead with cochlear implant surgery when he was 12 months old.

We attended a playgroup, which is run by our TOD, from a young age and had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing families, who have become friends.

I feel very passionate and proud to be part of WLDCS and want raise deaf awareness and inclusivity and to show that any level of hearing loss is not a barrier to success!
